Before joining an established group mat class as a new client please get in touch to see if you could benefit from a private introductory session. This would help to get you up to speed with the group you'll be joining, covering the essential principles and fundamentals of Pilates.
Whether you join Nola & Ness or another Pilates group class please check your teachers qualifications, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of the method. To qualify as a Body Control Pilates teacher students attend 80 hours in pilates theory, exercises and anatomy. Followed by a 3 hour written exam and around 50 hours of supervised teaching before a final teaching exam. As with all fitness regimes there are 'learn in a weekend' courses and sadly Pilates in no exception.
